Biene Österreich – Imkereidachverband (BÖ)

The umbrella organisation of Austrian beekeeping. Its members are the beekeeping associations: the Österreichischer Imkerbund (local clubs and nine provincial federations) and the Österreichischer Erwerbsimkerbund (professional beekeepers). It handles beekeeping support programmes, carries out honey yield surveys and bee health monitoring, and represents beekeepers' interests, for example on transparent honey labelling.

Beekeepers are not direct members: they belong through a local beekeeping club and provincial federation (Österreichischer Imkerbund) or, as professional beekeepers, through the Österreichischer Erwerbsimkerbund.

Beekeepers do not pay Biene Österreich directly; the fee is collected by the local club or member federation. The organisation does not publish the amount — please ask directly.
