No direct farmer membership
The two European umbrella bodies of EU farmers (Copa, 1958) and agricultural cooperatives (Cogeca, 1959), with a joint secretariat in Brussels since 1962. Its members are national farmers' organisations and cooperative federations. It represents farmers and cooperatives towards the EU institutions, mainly on the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
Farmers cannot join directly. According to the official member list, the Hungarian member of both Copa and Cogeca is NAK (Nemzeti Agrárgazdasági Kamara); in Austria the members are the Landwirtschaftskammer Österreich (Copa) and the Österreichischer Raiffeisenverband (Cogeca).
Only organisations pay a membership fee; it does not apply to individual farms. The amount is not published.
