Voluntary
The national beekeepers' association of the Czech Republic, with local branches (ZO) and district organisations. It gives beekeepers advice, training and information, publishes the monthly Včelařství and runs a library in Prague. Members also get a mutual damage fund and accident insurance.
Voluntary. Any natural or legal person can join, with or without bee colonies. If you keep bees, you first need a keeper registration number from Českomoravská společnost chovatelů, a. s. (at least 5 days before placing the colonies); the application is handed in at the chosen local branch, ideally where your apiary is.
The annual fee has two parts: a per-member part and a part per wintered colony (colonies wintered on 1 September of the previous year); members without bees pay the per-member part plus the fee for one colony. The amount is approved every year by the Republikový výbor by the end of August for the following year and collected by the local branch. The organisation does not publish the actual amount — please ask your local branch.
For information only, not legal advice. Mandatory membership is set by local law — each profile lists its source.
