Voluntary
The breeders' association for Czech Holstein dairy cattle, founded in 1990. As a breeding association recognised by the Ministry of Agriculture it keeps the Czech Holstein herdbook and works on better breeding and more profitable milk production. It represents breeders towards state bodies and is a member of the livestock section of the Agrární komora. According to the website about 330 full members keep about 130,000 cows.
Membership is voluntary. Natural or legal persons breeding Holstein (black-and-white) cattle, and other organisations interested in the breed, can become full members if they accept the association's aims and statutes. Anyone interested in Holstein breeding can become an associate member; only natural persons can be extraordinary members. Only full members have voting rights.
Under the 2019 fee rules: full membership is a one-off, refundable member contribution of CZK 100 per Holstein cow in the herdbook (CZK 10,000 for bull breeders), payable in instalments by agreement. Extraordinary member (breeder in the herdbook): CZK 1,000 a year. Associate member: natural person CZK 300 a year, legal person CZK 3,500 a year.
Fee basis: number of animals
