The Bundesverband Deutscher Milchviehhalter e.V. (BDM) is the independent, non-party organisation of dairy farmers, founded in 1998 and based in Freising. It reports that about one third of Germany's active dairy farmers are members, producing around 40% of German milk. It campaigns for cost-covering milk prices, milk-market crisis management and the future of dairy farming, and is a founding member of the European Milk Board (EMB).

Send the completed and signed membership form by post, fax or e-mail to one of the offices; a trial membership is also available.
Full members pay a basic fee of €80 a year plus €2.50 per cow per year; supporting members pay €100 a year.
