Since 1991 the Bauernverband Mecklenburg-Vorpommern e.V. has represented farmers and rural areas in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. As an 'association of associations' it is built on 15 regional unions; the head office in Neubrandenburg and the office in Schwerin bundle regional interests towards state politics and the German Farmers' Association (Deutscher Bauernverband). It represents farms of all sizes, types of production, legal and ownership forms, in agricultural, economic, legal, social and environmental policy.
Voluntary. Membership is through the regional union (Regionalverband) for your area; the regional union's application form and statutes can be downloaded from the website, or you can request information via an online form. Hunting cooperatives and owners of private hunting grounds can join the Jagdgenossenschaften working group.
Fees are set by the regional unions; the website gives no amounts — please ask directly. The Güstrow application form lists the farmed area (ha) and livestock units next to the annual fee.
For information only, not legal advice. Mandatory membership is set by local law — each profile lists its source.
