The Bauernverband Schleswig-Holstein (BVSH) is the voluntary farmers' union of the state of Schleswig-Holstein, based in Rendsburg, with more than 16,000 members. It is organised in district unions (Kreisbauernverbände) and represents farmers in politics together with the German Farmers' Association (Deutscher Bauernverband). Members get social, application, tax and legal advice at their district office.
Voluntary. Farmers, young farmers (future farm successors), retired farmers (Altenteiler) and landlords can join by sending the membership form to the district office for their home or farm. Non-farmers can become supporting members as individuals (district level) and institutions extraordinary members (state level).
For 2026 (set by the state committee): active farmers pay a basic fee of €175 a year plus €4.45 per started hectare; forest land €0.20 per started ha. Retired farmers (Altenteiler) pay €95 a year, landlords €175 a year and future farm successors €45 a year. More extensive individual advice is charged separately.
