No direct farmer membership
The national association of recognised producer organisations (Erzeugerorganisationen, under the EU common market organisation) in the German fruit and vegetable sector since 1970; its members are the producer organisations and further individual companies of the sector. It represents members on national and EU questions of the common market organisation (CMO), supports the opening of export markets in third countries (mainly phytosanitary procedures) and organises joint trade fair appearances. It runs the consumer campaign „Deutschland – Mein Garten.” and is a shareholder of the market data company AMI. Farmers are linked to it through their producer organisation.
Umbrella body: its members are fruit and vegetable producer organisations recognised under EU law by the state authority, plus further companies of the sector. Individual farmers are not direct members but join through a recognised producer organisation. Membership is voluntary.
Farmers pay nothing directly to the BVEO; they contribute to their producer organisation under its own rules (e.g. to the operational fund). The organisation does not publish its membership fee — please ask directly.
For information only, not legal advice. Mandatory membership is set by local law — each profile lists its source.
