No direct farmer membership
The national umbrella organisation of German beekeepers since 1907, based in Wachtberg near Bonn. Its members are the regional beekeepers' associations and, through them and the local clubs, the beekeepers. It represents beekeepers at national, European and international level and owns the collective mark “Echter Deutscher Honig” (genuine German honey), with quality rules and product and market checks.
Umbrella body: no direct membership. Anyone who is a member of a local beekeeping club belonging to a regional association is automatically a member of the D.I.B. The “Echter Deutscher Honig” guarantee lids can be ordered by members with registered colonies who have completed the honey training.
No direct fee is paid to the D.I.B.; the fee is collected by the local club and regional association, and the D.I.B. does not publish the amount.
For information only, not legal advice. Mandatory membership is set by local law — each profile lists its source.
