Who are they?

About

The interbranch organisation of the Spanish orange and mandarin sector, based in Valencia; founded in 1993, it was Spain's first recognised interbranch organisation. Its members are associations of the production and trade branches, organised in five 'colleges' (farmers' organisations, producer organisations, cooperatives, private trade). It funds plant-health defence and pest monitoring, research, communication and promotion campaigns. Lemons and grapefruit are covered by a separate body (Ailimpo).

Who is it for?

Is it mandatory?Mandatory levy, no membership

Members are associations; a farmer does not join directly. The extension under Orden APA/121/2026 (five years from 25 Feb 2026) binds every orange or mandarin grower in Spain who sells the crop to a trader or delivers it to his cooperative/SAT: the producer contribution is always owed by the grower.

Legal basisLey 38/1994, de 30 de diciembre, art. 8–9 + Orden APA/121/2026, de 18 de febrero (kiterjesztés 2026.02.25-től 5 évre)

What does it cost?

Membership fee

Producer contribution: €0.0006 per kg (i.e. €0.60 per tonne), unchanged for the whole period; the first buyer or cooperative pays the same on fruit for the fresh market. The first buyer or cooperative deducts it on the sales invoice and pays it monthly.

Fee basis: area/volume-based
