Farmers' union · Spain · national
Voluntary
A Spanish national farmers' organisation set up in 2008 by regional farm unions as an independent, non-profit confederation. Its founders included Unió de Pagesos (Catalonia), the Valencian Unió de Llauradors i Ramaders, Unión de Campesinos de Castilla y León and La Unión de Extremadura; today it is present in 11 autonomous communities. It mainly represents full-time farmers before the authorities and also works for rural development.
Voluntary. The confederation's members are regional farm unions (uniones); farmers join the member union for their area. Only people who farm professionally and directly can sit on its governing bodies.
The organisation does not publish its membership fee — please ask directly. The fee is collected by the regional member union.
For information only, not legal advice. Mandatory membership is set by local law — each profile lists its source.
