Jeunes Agriculteurs (JA) is France's young farmers' union, active since 1957. It has 14 regional and 95 departmental structures; farmers join through their departmental or local branch. Its main aim is generational renewal: it helps young people set up farms, represents their interests on the CAP and access to land, and trains future farm leaders.
Voluntary membership for farmers under 40 and young people preparing to farm (according to the website JA is represented by farmers under 40; the age limit was raised by the 2021 congress, previously 35). You join through your departmental/local JA branch.
The organisation does not publish its membership fee — ask them directly. The fee is set by the departmental branch.
For information only, not legal advice. Mandatory membership is set by local law — each profile lists its source.
