Who are they?

About

The European umbrella of organic food and farming in Brussels and the European regional body of IFOAM – Organics International. It has almost 200 members from 34 European countries: organic associations, processors, traders, certifiers, advisers and researchers. It represents the sector in EU organic legislation and agricultural policy; since 2026 its president is the director of Hungary's ÖMKi.

Who is it for?

Is it mandatory?No direct farmer membership

Farms do not join directly but connect through their national organic association: in Hungary through Magyar Biokultúra Szövetség (and Magyar Ökogazdálkodók Szövetsége), in Austria through BIO AUSTRIA.

What does it cost?

Membership fee

Only organisations pay a membership fee; it does not apply to individual farms. The amount is not published.
