Italy's national livestock breeders' organisation, a recognised public-benefit body (ente morale) since 1950. Through its regional and provincial breeders' associations (ARA/APA) it collects on-farm data (formerly performance recording) for cattle, buffalo, sheep, goat and pig farms across the country, and offers laboratory, milking and registration services. It works with ministries, regions and research institutes and organises livestock shows.
Voluntary. AIA's members are the regional and provincial breeders' associations (first-level associations), which bring together livestock farmers of all species in their area. Farmers take part and use the services through their regional association.
AIA publishes no membership fee; fees and service prices are set by the regional associations — please ask directly.
For information only, not legal advice. Mandatory membership is set by local law — each profile lists its source.
