Voluntary
The national association of Italian pig breeders, based in Rome (not to be confused with the road company ANAS). Founded in 1957, it is the official breeding body for pigs: it keeps the herd books and runs breeding and conservation programmes, including for native breeds (e.g. Cinta Senese, Nero Siciliano, Mora Romagnola). It operates two performance-testing stations (near Reggio Emilia and Arezzo).
Voluntary. Ordinary members are pig farmers (individual or company) listed in the herd-book register of farms, or who use the results of ANAS breeding programmes (e.g. buy breeding stock or semen). Organisations and companies of the pig sector can be supporting members (no vote).
Under the statute there is a one-off entry fee and an annual fee in proportion to the pig herd; the amount is set by the board and not published on the website — please ask directly.
For information only, not legal advice. Mandatory membership is set by local law — each profile lists its source.
