CONAPI - Consorzio Nazionale Apicoltori (CONAPI)

An Italian beekeepers' producer cooperative (Società Cooperativa Agricola) in Monterenzio near Bologna, founded in 1985. Members extract honey on their own farms and deliver it in drums; the cooperative tests, jars and sells it (Mielizia and Cuor di Miele brands, retailer private labels). By its own figures it involves more than 600 beekeepers and 100,000 hives; it has 238 members in Italy and Spain, almost half of them organic. It has worked with organic honey since 1991.

Voluntary. Beekeepers who deliver their honey to the cooperative and accept its quality rules (as organic or conventional members) can apply. Applications are made through the website form; the admission conditions and the cooperative share are not detailed on the website.

The organisation does not publish its membership fee — please ask directly.
