The national second-level union of Italian beekeepers' associations. Its members are the regional beekeepers' associations of 17 regions, plus the associations of professional beekeepers (Aapi), fresh royal jelly producers (Copait) and bee conservation (Aissa). By its own figures (2025) it represents 15,457 beekeepers, including 5,653 beekeeping businesses, and 623,130 hives. It represents the sector and, with Ministry support, runs a technical reference centre for beekeeping (CRT).
Voluntary. Only associations can join: beekeepers' associations based in Italy that accept the statute. A farmer joins through a local/regional member association (list on the website). The board of directors decides on applications.
Only member associations pay: one-off entry fee €550; annual fee by number of hives represented: €500 (up to 10,000 hives), €1,200 (10,001–30,000), €1,500 (30,001–50,000), €2,000 (over 50,000). Individual beekeepers pay their fee to their local association.
