Voluntary
The voluntary interest group of private agricultural and forestry estates in Austria. Its members — about 640–700 holdings — manage roughly 1.6 million hectares in total, mostly forest. Its roots go back to an agricultural society founded in 1807; it has six provincial associations. It represents landowners at provincial, national and EU level.
Voluntary membership for owners and managers of agricultural and forest land. Provincial associations: Burgenland, Kärnten, Niederösterreich, Oberösterreich, Salzburg, Steiermark. The website gives no size threshold; members are typically larger estates.
The organisation is funded by voluntary membership fees; it does not publish the amount — please ask directly.
For information only, not legal advice. Mandatory membership is set by local law — each profile lists its source.
