The recognised interbranch organisation of fish farmers, fishers, fish processors and traders, formed in 2017 by the merger of two sector bodies. It represents the fisheries and aquaculture sector, promotes Hungarian fish and fish consumption, and publishes the trade journal HALÁSZAT. It organises events (e.g. the National Fish Soup Cooking Contest, Fishermen's Ball) and study trips.
Voluntary. You join with a membership application and a turnover declaration; the board decides at its next meeting. The exact membership rules are in the statutes.
Annual fee based on the previous year's fisheries turnover, in bands: up to HUF 50 million HUF 108,000, rising by HUF 108,000 per HUF 50 million, above HUF 350 million HUF 864,000. Individuals without fisheries turnover pay HUF 30,000, education and research institutions HUF 90,000. Turnover is declared between 1 and 30 June; the fee is due by 1 March. Admission requires recommendations from two full members.
