The federation of Austrian machinery rings (Linz). It began in the 1960s as farmers' self-help association; today 80 local rings have more than 70,000 members, and Maschinenring member farms cultivate more than half of Austria's agricultural land. The ring brokers machinery work and labour between farmers, handles central invoicing and organises social farm relief in case of illness or accident. The federal association unites the provincial associations; the local rings also provide municipal and staffing services as businesses.
Membership is voluntary. Farmers join their local machinery ring; the members of the federal association are the provincial associations. The website gives no detailed entry conditions.
The membership fee is set by the local ring; the website gives no national amount — ask your local ring.
For information only, not legal advice. Mandatory membership is set by local law — each profile lists its source.
