No direct farmer membership
The public-benefit umbrella of Hungarian livestock breeders' federations, founded in 1995. Its members are the national breeders' federations for each species (cattle, pigs, horses, sheep and goats, bees, chinchillas, native breeds), not individual farmers. It represents breeders towards decision-makers, comments on legislation and publishes the Magyar Állattenyésztők Lapja magazine.
Farmers cannot be full members directly: full members are national species federations of recognised breeding organisations. A farmer connects through the breed society of their breed and its national federation (e.g. the Hungarian Cattle Breeders' Federation). Any legal entity or individual who supports the federation morally and financially can be a supporting member.
Does not apply to individual farms: only national federations of recognised breeding organisations can be full members; the delegate assembly sets the federation fee (amount not published).
