The recognised interbranch organisation of the poultry and egg sector, founded in 1991. Through its sector federations (broiler, turkey, goose, duck, free-range, eggs) it brings together the whole chain from breeding, hatching and production to processing and trade. It collects production and market data, represents the sector and manages the “Magyar Baromfi” and “Koronás Tojás” trademarks.
Voluntary. Anyone working in poultry breeding, hatching, production, processing, retail or wholesale can join; applications via the website, under the statutes.
Member associations set their own fees. In the egg association (Hungarian Association of Layer Breeders and Egg Producers): HUF 20,000 registration fee per year; egg producers and pullet rearers pay HUF 3 per hen per year based on the previous year's average flock; hatcheries, processors and traders 0.03% of turnover; capped at HUF 1 million per year per fee category, paid quarterly (schedule in force since 2018). Supporting members: HUF 30,000 (turnover under HUF 100 million) or HUF 100,000.
