The only breeding organisation in Hungary that improves non-native purebred pig breeds: Hungarian Large White, Hungarian Landrace, Duroc, Hampshire and Piétrain. Recognised as a breeding organisation since 2000 and based in Kaposvár. It keeps the herd book, carries out performance testing and BLUP breeding value estimation, and sets the technical conditions for selling breeding pigs.
Full members can be any natural person, legal person or organisation without legal personality whose activity is directly or indirectly linked to pig breeding, who signs the membership declaration and whose admission the board approves; supporters of the association can become supporting members. Young breeding boars may only be sold for general breeding with a BLUP rating of at least 100, and to AI stations with at least 105. Under 188/2019. (VII. 30.) Korm. rendelet the association may not refuse membership if the breeder accepts the membership obligations, and it must enter animals of the breed in the herd book on request. To produce and sell registered breeding animals you have to take part in the breeding programme.
The annual fee is set each year by the general assembly (recorded in its minutes). It is paid in full by 30 June each year; members joining after 30 June pay 50% of the fee by 31 December. A supporting member's contribution is at least twice the annual fee. The organisation does not publish the amount — please ask them directly.
