No direct farmer membership
The national umbrella association for sheep and goat farming in Austria, based in Vienna and founded on 17 January 2002. Its members are the 10 provincial sheep and goat breeding associations, the provincial chambers of agriculture and the Österreichische Schaf- und Ziegenbörse (a producer group). It runs a central herdbook database, draws up national breeding programmes and, together with Landwirtschaftskammer Österreich, represents the sector, including in Brussels.
Farmers are not direct members: they join through their provincial sheep or goat breeding association (list and contacts on the "Landesverbände" page). Members of the provincial organisations can use the sz-Online herd management programme.
Organisational membership fee — it does not concern farmers directly. Farmers pay the provincial association; ask there for its fee.
