Voluntary
Austria's non-partisan association of mountain and small farmers, founded in 1974. It works for food sovereignty, the survival of small farms and a fair agricultural policy. It is the Austrian member of the international peasant movement La Via Campesina.
Voluntary association membership. Full members are people farming in Austria or actively contributing to preserving peasant farming; other people working on the farm can take out an 'extended farm membership'. Anyone can become a supporting member. Membership can be cancelled as of 30 June or 31 December. (According to the website as of 2023; the live site cannot be reached now.)
Full member: €45 + one thousandth of the assessed value (Einheitswert) a year; extended farm membership: €10 per person; supporting member: at least €45 + a free donation. The fee includes a subscription to the magazine 'Wege für eine bäuerliche Zukunft'. (2023 figures — ask for the current amount.)
Fee basis: land-value based (collected with tax)
