The central working group of Austrian horse breeders (ZAP, also known as "Pferd Austria"), based in Stadl-Paura; it celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024. It represents Austrian horse breeders and agricultural horse keepers and coordinates efforts to improve horse breeding in Austria. It issues common guidelines on breeding, organisation and marketing and organises publications and events (championships, shows). Main breeds: Austrian Warmblood, Haflinger, Noriker, Anglo-Arab, Arab-Haflinger, Icelandic, Pinto.
Farmers are not direct members: breeders join through their provincial horse breeding association or breed working group (ARGE Haflinger, ARGE Noriker, ARGE Warmblut). ZAP's members are the provincial associations, the breed working groups, national breeding organisations, the Spanische Hofreitschule, the Pferdezentrum Stadl-Paura and the provincial chambers of agriculture.
Organisational membership fee — it does not concern farmers directly. Breeders pay the provincial association; ask there for its fee.
