The national association of Polish pig breeders and producers, active since 1958; today it brings together 7 regional (voivodeship) associations. It may run national breeding programmes for Large White, Polish Landrace, Duroc, Hampshire, Pietrain, Puławska and other breeds. It keeps the herd book, carries out performance testing and carcass grading, and runs a herd health certification programme and the PQS quality scheme.
Voluntary. Any pig breeder or producer can join as an individual: a written application is needed with a document proving the activity (e.g. a contract with POLSUS or a copy of the pig herd registration with ARiMR). Associations, unions and producer groups can also join. The presidium decides within 30 days.
Individual members: entry fee (wpisowe) PLN 100 and annual fee PLN 50; the entry fee is due within 30 days of the admission decision. For associations the entry fee is PLN 1,000; regional associations pay an annual fee by number of sows (up to 500 sows PLN 200, 501–1,000 PLN 300, above PLN 600); other organisations at least PLN 500.
