Voluntary
The national association of Polish horse breeders, the umbrella of district and regional horse breeders' associations and of breed associations covering more than one voivodeship, with an office in Warsaw. It develops and runs breeding programmes, keeps the studbooks, identifies horses and issues equine passports, and evaluates breeding and performance value. It organises championships, performance tests and shows, and publishes the quarterly “Hodowca i Jeździec”.
Voluntary. PZHK's ordinary members are the district/regional and breed associations with legal personality; legal persons active in horse keeping across more than one voivodeship can be supporting members. A farmer joins individually through the district or regional horse breeders' association (OZHK/WZHK) for their area and belongs to PZHK through it. For passports or change of ownership you also contact the district association.
The member associations pay fees to PZHK and the district associations set individual fees; the organisation does not publish the amount — please ask directly. Fees for individual services (e.g. passports, studbook entries) are in the price list (Cennik opłat) on the website.
