The national federation of sheep and goat breeders' societies in Slovenia, founded in 1996 and based in Domžale. It is the breeding organisation recognised by the ministry (PRO) for small ruminants: together with the Biotechnical and Veterinary Faculties and the Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry (KGZS) it carries out the joint breeding programme for sheep and goats. It covers the programmes for ten sheep breeds (e.g. Jezersko-Solčava, Bovec sheep, Texel) and five goat breeds (e.g. Drežnica, Slovenian Saanen, Boer). It is for farmers who keep sheep or goats.
Membership is voluntary. The members of the federation are local sheep and goat breeders' societies (21 according to the website, 22 on the list, each with between 40 and over 200 members); farmers join the society in their area.
