The national federation of breeders' societies for the Simmental (Fleckvieh, 'lisasta') cattle breed in Slovenia, based at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Maribor in Hoče. As a breeding organisation recognised by the ministry (PRO), it runs the breeding programme for the breed and takes part in setting the breeding goal. It has been a member of the European Simmental federation since 1993 and of the World Simmental federation since 1994. It is for dairy and beef farmers who keep Simmental cattle.
Membership is voluntary. The members of the federation are local cattle breeders' societies (the website lists 33); farmers join through the society in their area. The federation passes on the societies' contact details via info@liska.si.
The organisation does not publish its membership fee — ask directly.
For information only, not legal advice. Mandatory membership is set by local law — each profile lists its source.
