Voluntary
The voluntary federation of private forest owners in Slovenia, active since 2006, bringing together 20 local forest owners' societies and more than 3,000 members. It represents forest owners' interests when forestry, hunting, agricultural and environmental legislation is drafted, and supports sustainable, close-to-nature forest management. It is a member of the Confederation of European Forest Owners (CEPF). It is for family farms and small owners who own forest.
Membership is voluntary. Under the statutes (2015) the members of the federation are local forest owners' societies; a society can join if it has at least 30 members who own forest and signs the association agreement. Individual forest owners belong to the federation through their local society.
Member societies pay a fee to the federation; the amount is approved by the general assembly and is not published on the website. The individual fee is set by the local society — ask directly.
For information only, not legal advice. Mandatory membership is set by local law — each profile lists its source.
