Farmers' union · Slovakia · national
Voluntary
A bilingual (Slovak–Hungarian) organisation of farmers in southern Slovakia, most of them Hungarian speakers, founded in 2011 in Dunajská Streda (Dunaszerdahely). Despite “komora” (chamber) in its name, it is not a public-law chamber but a voluntary civic association; its regional chambers are in Dunajská Streda, Galanta and Rimavská Sobota, with 690 members. It gives bilingual advice on production and on applying for subsidies, runs training and represents members in law-making. It is a member of Hungary's National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) and of the Slovak employers' union RÚZ.
Membership is voluntary. Any natural or legal person farming in Slovakia can join, including self-employed farmers (SHR) and applicants for area-based direct payments. You can join through a regional chamber (RAK) or directly with AKS; other businesses (e.g. food processors, service providers), schools and associate members can also join.
Under the general assembly's decision of 13 March 2026, farmers of agricultural land pay through a regional chamber €150/year up to 215 ha and €0.70/ha/year above 215 ha; as direct AKS members €130/year up to 215 ha and €0.60/ha/year above. Other businesses pay at least €200/year, schools and associate members €50/year. Fees are paid by bank transfer against an invoice; membership ends if a member has not paid by 30 June of the following year after two reminders.
