Who are they?

About

The cooperative of Holstein dairy cattle breeders in Slovakia, founded in 1992. Since 1996 it has kept the Holstein herdbook on behalf of the ministry; it carries out linear type classification, calculates breeding values and develops breeding programmes. It is for dairy farmers with Holstein herds; about 163 legal entities and 107 individuals are members.

Voluntary. Natural and legal persons breeding Holstein cattle can join using the application form on the website. Non-members can also use herdbook services at higher prices.

What does it cost?

Membership fee
  • at least 10 EUR — individual
  • at least 100 EUR — organisation

According to the price list valid from 1 January 2025 the annual fee is €100 for legal entities and €10 for individuals (excl. VAT). Non-members pay €300 a year for breeder registration; members pay less for services (e.g. cow registration €0.50, linear classification €3 per animal).
