Mandatory levy, no membership
The interbranch organisation of the Hungarian dairy sector, founded in 1992 and recognised as representative since 2013. It brings milk producers, processors and traders to one table, collects market and price data, and uses sector self-regulation to make the market more transparent. Its Community Marketing Fund promotes milk consumption.
Membership is voluntary and open: milk producers, collectors, processors and traders can be full members (the category depends on where most of the dairy turnover came from in the year before joining); supporting and associated membership also exist. Mandatory payment regardless of membership: dairy processors and dairy wholesalers and retailers operating in Hungary pay into the Community Marketing Fund (153/2023. (XII. 21.) AM rendelet), unless their net turnover in the previous year was below HUF 50 million. Producers who only sell raw milk are not affected; a farm processing its own milk may be affected above HUF 50 million turnover.
The organisation does not publish its regular membership fee — please ask them directly. The mandatory marketing contribution is half a thousandth (0.05%) of the net turnover from milk and dairy sales in the calendar year before the reference year, paid in two equal instalments by 15 April and 15 October. The decree expires on 1 January 2027.
Fee basis: turnover-based
