Voluntary
The national body representing Austrian winegrowers organised in associations, working within the agricultural chamber system and based in Vienna. It was founded in 1885 as the „Verein zum Schutze des österreichischen Weinbaus” and has carried its present name since 1988. Its presidium includes the presidents of the provincial associations (Lower Austria, Burgenland, Styria, Vienna). Association news is published in the trade magazine „Der Winzer”.
Voluntary. Winegrowers do not join directly but through their provincial winegrowers' association (Landesweinbauverband) and its local associations. It is not the same as compulsory chamber membership.
The organisation does not publish its membership fee — please ask them directly.
For information only, not legal advice. Mandatory membership is set by local law — each profile lists its source.
