Breeders' association for Charolais (and Aubrac) beef cattle, based in Miskolc; set up as a union in 1988 and an association since 1992. It keeps the herd book, carries out production and breeding recording, estimates BREEDPLAN breeding values and organises performance tests. Members include private farmers and companies, some of them from abroad.
Voluntary membership for individuals and companies keeping Charolais or Aubrac beef cattle; to join you send an application, a membership contract, an SME declaration and a list of the animals to be enrolled. Individuals and legal persons can also be supporting members. Under 188/2019. (VII. 30.) Korm. rendelet the association may not refuse membership if the breeder accepts the membership obligations, and it must enter animals of the breed in the herd book on request. To produce and sell registered breeding animals you have to take part in the breeding programme.
Annual membership fee (price list valid from 1 July 2025, net): HUF 25,000 for both individuals and companies with animals; supporting members HUF 25,000 (individuals) or HUF 50,000 (legal persons). In addition there are per-head service fees, e.g. production recording HUF 1,100–1,300 per animal per year, breeding recording HUF 600–800 per cow per year; certificate of origin HUF 5,000 for members, HUF 10,000 for non-members.
