Bund Ökologische Lebensmittelwirtschaft (BÖLW)

The top-level association of the German organic food sector since 2002, bringing together the associations of organic farmers, processors and retailers. It has 18 member organisations (including Bioland, Demeter, Naturland, Biokreis and Gäa) and 34 supporting members. It speaks for the organic sector with one voice, especially on the EU organic regulation, the CAP, plant and animal health, genetic engineering and climate. For a farmer it matters through membership of one of its member associations.

Umbrella organisation: individual farmers cannot be members. Its full members are organic associations; companies and organisations can join as supporting members. As a farmer you join a member association (e.g. Bioland, Demeter, Naturland).

The organisation does not publish its membership fee — please ask directly.
