The professional body of winegrowers in the Baden wine region, based in Freiburg. It has 424 members (2025): 331 wine estates and self-marketing wineries, 66 winegrowers' cooperatives with about 14,000 individual members, and 27 supporting members. It represents growers in legislation, manages the product specification of the “g.U. Baden” designation and awards the Baden quality seal and regional wine competition prizes.
Voluntary. Wine estates, cooperatives, vine nurseries and supporting members can join with a membership declaration (stating total vineyard area). Growers who belong to a cooperative are usually linked to the association through it. The Baden wine region lies in the Baden part of Baden-Württemberg (Lake Constance, Ortenau, Kaiserstuhl, Bergstraße, Tauberfranken, etc.).
According to the 2023 information letter, the annual fee is €40 per started hectare of vineyard plus a €50 base fee (€90 in total up to 1 ha).
