The professional and economic-policy body of winegrowers in the Württemberg wine region, based in Weinsberg; its predecessor was founded in 1825. It has about 11,000 members and represents more than 95% of the region's producers and wine volume. It manages the product specification of the protected designation of origin “g.U. Württemberg” and runs the quality wine testing and the state wine awards.
Voluntary. Wine-growing businesses in the Württemberg wine region can join with a membership declaration (stating the vineyard area) and a direct-debit mandate. The region covers the Stuttgart and Tübingen districts of Baden-Württemberg.
Annual fee (2026 membership form): €1.00 base fee per business + €39.50 per started hectare of vineyard; the minimum fee for up to 1.4 ha is €54.30. Paid by direct debit.
