The national federation of Germany's horticultural trade organisations and associations, founded on 12 August 1948 in Frankfurt. It represents the economic and social interests of horticulture on legal, tax, social, environmental and training questions. Its technical work is done by national trade associations and groups: retail growers (BVE), ornamental plant growers (BVZ), cemetery gardeners (BdF), plus the vegetable-growing and fruit-growing groups. It is the patron of the Federal Garden Show (BUGA) and the IPM plant fair in Essen, and coordinates a national recruitment campaign for gardeners.
Umbrella body: its members are the state horticultural associations (e.g. Wirtschaftsverband Gartenbau Norddeutschland, Landesverband Gartenbau NRW, Bayerischer Gärtnerei-Verband, Gartenbauverband Baden-Württemberg-Hessen) and the national trade associations. A horticultural business joins through its state association. Membership is voluntary.
The fee is set by the state horticultural association. The organisation does not publish its membership fee — please ask directly.
