Voluntary
The national professional network of French organic farmers, founded in 1978. It consists of a national federation, 13 regional groups (GRAB/FRAB) and about 67 departmental/local groups (GAB), representing about 10,000 organic farms. It supports conversion, setting up and passing on farms, and runs its own farmer-led FNAB label. It is a member of IFOAM Organics Europe.
Voluntary. Farmers join the nearest departmental/local group (GAB) or the regional group; both organic farmers and conventional farmers planning to convert can join. Organic certification is separate and done by a control body.
The fee is set by the local/regional group (GAB/GRAB); the national federation does not publish amounts — ask the local group.
