Voluntary
The French interprofessional body for hive products (honey, pollen, propolis, royal jelly), with two colleges: production (beekeepers) and marketing (packers, distributors). It estimates the annual French honey crop, produces market and consumption studies, and publishes health programmes (varroa, Asian hornet) and labelling guides. It is for beekeepers and honey traders.
There is no individual membership; beekeepers are represented by the federations of the production college. The agreement of 14 February 2022 was extended by the order of 7 June 2022 from 1 August 2022 to 31 December 2025; during that period beekeepers with more than 50 hives had to pay (the Conseil d'État dismissed the challenge against it on 22 December 2023). The 2026 agreement of 29 May 2026 was extended by the order of 11 August 2026 with beekeepers expressly excluded, so in 2026 there is no extended, compulsory levy on beekeepers.
In 2022–2025 beekeepers (over 50 hives) paid a flat annual amount via the farmers' social insurance (MSA): EUR 60 as a solidarity contributor, EUR 160 as a farm manager; in a farming company (e.g. GAEC) each partner separately. Distributors paid EUR 0.02/kg (French honey) or EUR 0.01/kg (imported honey). No amount affecting beekeepers has been published for 2026 — ask them directly.
