Nivegy-völgyi Hegyközség is the local wine community of the Balatonfüred-Csopak wine region, based in Balatoncsicsó. It is the statutory body of grape growers and winemakers in its area: it keeps the member register and holding files, its ‘hegybíró’ (vineyard officer) issues certificates of origin and planting authorisations and inspects vineyards. Its national body is the National Council of Wine Communities (HNT).
Membership is mandatory if, in the community's area, you cultivate wine grapes on more than 1,000 m², or you sell grapes, must or wine regardless of area; winemakers producing wine for sale and buyers of grapes or wine are members too (Hungarian Act CCXIX of 2012, §§ 4 and 15).
Wine-community levy: the general assembly sets it every year by 31 May, based on vineyard area, grapes produced or bought, or wine bought (§ 47). Ask the vineyard officer (hegybíró) for this year's amount.
Fee basis: area/volume-based
