Voluntary
The Slovak chamber of agriculture and food: set up by Act No. 30/1992 Zb. as a non-state, self-governing public-law institution, but membership has been voluntary since 1 January 2005. It works through a network of regional chambers (RPPK) and sector chambers and, by its own account, represents members who farm more than 63% of the utilised agricultural area and keep more than 70% of the cattle. It offers representation, market and legal information, advice and training; it is the Slovak member of Copa-Cogeca.
Membership is voluntary. Under the Act, any natural or legal person in business in agriculture, the food industry or the biological, technical and trade services for them can join. Membership starts on the day of admission based on a written application and ends with a written request to leave. You can join through a regional chamber (RPPK), a regional chamber with special status, or directly through the chamber's office.
Under the 2026 fee system (general assembly of 9 September 2025), farmers pay per hectare of verified agricultural land in the previous year. As a direct member: €1/ha, at least €50; through a regional chamber the share for the chamber is €0.39/ha (at least €19.50 below 50 ha), plus the regional chamber's own fee. Processors and service businesses pay according to the previous year's turnover (€200–6,900); a non-business individual pays €200 as a direct member. Direct members' fees are due by 30 June 2026.
Fee basis: area/volume-based
