Mandatory levy, no membership
The French interprofessional body for fruit and vegetables grown for processing, founded in 1976. It represents about 16,000 farms, 120 producer organisations and more than 200 processing plants; some 2 million tonnes of fruit and vegetables a year go to canners, freezers and other processors. It works through product sections (e.g. canning vegetables, prunes, cherries, blackcurrants, mushrooms), which conclude contracting and financing agreements. It is for farmers growing under contract for processors.
There is no individual membership: farmers are represented by producer organisations and the federations in the sections. The state can extend section agreements by order, product by product and season by season; they then bind all growers and processors of that product. Example: the financing agreement of 4 December 2025 for Agen prunes (CIPAg) was extended by the order of 3 April 2026 for the season from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026. Whether it applies to you depends on which crop you grow for processing.
The amount and basis of the levy are set by the extended agreements of each product section (published in the Ministry of Agriculture's official bulletin, BO Agri); the organisation does not publish amounts on its website. Ask the product section or your producer organisation.
