Who are they?

About

The national association of artisan and small-scale cheesemakers, active since 2006. It aims to develop Hungarian cheese culture and raise the quality and recognition of Hungarian cheeses. It runs the yearly Hungarian Cheese Show (Magyar Sajtmustra), the Hungarian Cheese Route network and trains cheese judges.

Who is it for?

Voluntary. Cheesemakers (primary producers, sole traders, companies) and trained cheese judges can join; applications are made on the website.

What does it cost?

Membership fee
  • at least 30,000 HUF — individual
  • at least 60,000 HUF — organisation

Annual fee: HUF 30,000 for primary producers and sole traders, HUF 60,000 for companies, and a reduced HUF 18,000 for cheese judges.

Fee basis: flat annual fee

  • Magyar Sajtmustra: yearly cheese judging and show
  • Hungarian Cheese Route network, member map on the website
  • Cheese-judge training and courses (discount for members)
  • Expert advice (“Sajtdoktor” column), events
