Mandatory levy, no membership
The protection consortium for the Prosecco DOC designation, based in Treviso. It looks after the general interests of the designation, monitors correct use of the name and promotes Prosecco DOC in Italy and abroad. The production area covers Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
Under Article 41 of Law 238/2016 the consortium collects a contribution from every grape grower, winemaker and bottler registered in the Prosecco DOC control system, even non-members ('erga omnes'). If you grow and declare Prosecco DOC grapes, this applies to you. Membership is voluntary: any grower, winemaker or bottler in the control system may join (individual or associated farmers, companies, cooperatives). The area is Veneto (provinces of Belluno, Padua, Treviso, Venice, Vicenza) and Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
Under the 2024 decision (invoiced on the previous year's production data): growers pay EUR 41.50 erga omnes per 50 quintals of grapes or part thereof (members +EUR 1.50 for services, EUR 43.00 in total); winemakers EUR 41.50 per 37.5 hl of wine or part thereof (members EUR 43.00); bottlers EUR 53.00 per 5,000 bottles or part thereof (members EUR 55.00). Unpaid contributions are reported to ICQRF and can lead to a fine and suspension of the right to use the designation. Ask the consortium for the current amount.
Fee basis: area/volume-based
