The Landwirtschaftskammer Kärnten is the statutory agricultural chamber of Carinthia, based in Klagenfurt. It represents some 18,000 farming and forestry family businesses: it gives advice, helps with aid applications and organises training (with eight district offices). Farmers above the threshold are members automatically under the provincial law; the national umbrella is the Landwirtschaftskammer Österreich.
Compulsory member (K-LWKG § 4): owners of a Carinthian farm or forest holding, or of land in lasting agricultural use, of at least 1 ha; tenants or usufructuaries if the area they farm independently exceeds 2 ha; full-time self-employed farmers and foresters (e.g. beekeepers); unpaid family members working on the farm; managing employees; retired farmers who handed over the farm, and their spouses. The law sets no assessed-value threshold.
Chamber levy (Kammerumlage, § 32), paid by the members under § 4 (1) a–c (owners, tenants): a base amount plus a percentage of the land-tax base amount (Grundsteuermessbetrag). Since 2024 the base amount is EUR 49 (§ 32 (2) of the act, LGBl. Nr. 89/2023; index-linked to consumer prices and adjusted by regulation once the change exceeds 5%), and the Hebesatz is 800% (legal ceiling 1,200%). The Grundsteuermessbetrag is 0.16% of the first EUR 3,650 of assessed value (Einheitswert) and 0.2% above that. Example (chamber's calculation): an assessed value of EUR 10,000 gives about EUR 197 a year. The tax office collects it with land tax.
Fee basis: land-value based (collected with tax)
