The Landwirtschaftskammer Salzburg is the statutory agricultural chamber of the province of Salzburg, based in the city of Salzburg, with five district chambers. It represents the province's farmers and foresters: it gives advice, helps with aid applications, organises training and publishes the weekly "Salzburger Bauer". Farmers above the threshold are members automatically under the provincial law; the national umbrella is the Landwirtschaftskammer Österreich.
Compulsory member (Salzburger Landwirtschaftskammergesetz 2000, § 4): owners or operators (natural or legal persons) of farm or forest holdings in the province of Salzburg if the land tax base amount (Grundsteuermessbetrag) is at least EUR 0.87 or the area at least 2 ha; self-employed farmers and foresters whose assessed-value notice shows an assessed value (or share) of at least EUR 150; family members working on the farm; retired farmers; church institutions managing more than 2 ha; agricultural and forestry cooperatives.
Chamber levy (Kammerumlage, § 38): per calendar year a base amount plus a percentage (Hebesatz) of the land tax base amount (Grundsteuermessbetrag); both are set by the chamber's plenary assembly (Vollversammlung), the same for everyone. The owner pays (and may pass it on to the tenant); with several holdings the base amount is due only once, and the excess can be reclaimed by 31 March. The tax office collects it with land tax. We did not find current amounts (the base amount was EUR 30 in 2006) — ask the chamber.
Fee basis: land-value based (collected with tax)
