Mandatory if…
The statutory representative and advisory body for farmers in Tyrol, based in Innsbruck with district offices. It advises on livestock, crops, forestry and legal and tax matters, helps with subsidies and runs training. It is part of the Austrian chamber system (LKÖ).
Membership by law (conditional), § 4: every natural or legal person who owns, leases or holds the usufruct of farm or forest holdings or land in Tyrol totalling at least 5,000 m². Family members living on the farm and substantially working on it, persons farming independently as their main occupation, and Tyrolean agricultural cooperatives are also members. When land is leased, the owner remains a member too.
Chamber levy (Kammerumlage): a per-member base amount (Sockelbetrag) plus a rate set as a percentage of the land-tax base amount (Grundsteuermessbetrag, derived from the assessed value). From 2023: €65 base amount + 1,050% rate; according to the chamber, for an assessed value of €10,000 this meant an increase of about €20 a year. For 2024 the general assembly approved a further moderate, inflation-linked increase whose amount the chamber has not published — ask the chamber for the current figures. The tax office collects it with land tax.
Fee basis: land-value based (collected with tax)
